Restoration Assistance Grant Program

ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS

It is CHPS desire to preserve historic sites and buildings in Corona.  This grant program is established reimburse a fixed amount of the costs incurred by individuals seeking to improve, beautify preserve or restore their properties in a manner complimentary to the historic fabric of the structure. Since the Society is committed to promoting future restoration so others will be able to see the historic beauty of our city, our aim is to fund exterior improvements and projects that are visible to the public.

 

In addition to necessary contact information, property/site information and description of the project, the Grant Application states the general guidelines, basic eligibility requirements, selection criteria and submission requirements.

When projects submitted seem to compete for available funds, priority will be given to:

• Applications submitted by individuals.

• Applicants intent on restoring homes or businesses to original appearance.

• Applicants with, accurate restorations to the period of construction or design.

• Locations which are currently listed on or situated on any of the following:

a. The Grand Boulevard Historic District

b. State Historic Structures Inventory (CA)

c. Any city or county list of Historic Resources

d. Any city or county list of Structures of Merit

e. Homes and structures that CHPS Grant committee considers historic in nature.

 

Notes

 

The Society will endeavor to ensure that the grants will be non-taxable or tax-free to the recipient.
